"One with the Wind" is an art book which appeals to both adult and child alike. My poetry is visually harmonized by the phenomenal work of both award winning wildlife artist, Liz Mitten Ryan and master carver/goldsmith/artist Bradley Hunt. I am extremely proud of this work and am presently in search of the perfect publisher. Wish me luck.
Below is the proposed layout. Bradley will create incredible medallions to compliment each of Liz's paintings. The poem speaks of the interconnectedness of life - and yes, I was honored to be the model for Liz's beautiful paintings. Scroll down and enjoy.
One with the Wind
The breeze - it carries whispers
Hush, and you will hear
It speak of earthly secrets
Of all you should hold dear
Breathe deep of my caresses,
Says the gentle breeze,
I’ve played amongst the branches
Of sacred ancient trees
I’ve ruffled
Eagle’s feathers
While upon my drafts
he’s soared
I’ve tickled fur
on Grizzly’s back
And carried away
her roar
The thoughtful Ones
of ocean’s deep
have risen to
my kiss
My wafts are laced
with Orca songs
Singing of
their bliss
A little chill
I borrowed
while Wolf lamented
to the Moon
Then I swept
across the Tundra
Racing with
the Caribou
Please,
send with me your Spirit
That it may ascend
ever higher
Or let me speak
in smoke tendrils
By your
ancestral fire

Trust me with your dreams, it says,
I’ll take them to the sky
Breathe deep upon my wisdom
And let your Spirit fly!
